When my wife and I were first dating, we used to go out for breakfast at a little diner near where she lived at the time called The Fudgey Horse. Like many restaurants and eateries, The Fudgey Horse had a frequent diner rewards program. Their deal was that if you bought 10 orders of pancakes, you got the 11th order for free. An order of pancakes (3 pancakes about 6 inches in diameter) was $8.00. So, in order to get your 3 FREE pancakes, you had to spend $80. When you look at it that way it doesn’t seem like a deal at all. That’s a lot of money spent just to get 3 pancakes.
A deal is not always a deal and a sale is not always a sale.
